New MFT Changes and an introduction

Hi all.

  I found your site some time ago and just got around to signing up. I've been lurking for awhile reading and deciding what I wanted to buy. Alot of good info here. Enough to push me off the fence and just do it already   It's been several months of hemming and hawing, but I  finally took the plunge and bought my first Festool equipment last night..... after a side trip to the blood bank first    One of the purchases was an MFT.

As an after thought , maybe I should have waited for the new and improved version. My question is, does anyone  know what the changes will be to the new model ? The guy at Woodcraft said he wasn't sure except the height will be raised. Has to be more then that for them to discontinue the 1080.

  Mike, Festool hasn't released any info yet, when they do I bet you won't miss it here, there will be 5 or 6 threads about it. So, use your new, great MFT or return it and wait who knows how long for the new model. I'd keep it.

Like Brice said - there's no definitive info yet, and no real idea of dates either. If you like your current MFT, and are happy with your purchase, then there's no real reason to be concerned.
