I only have a handful of images and I don't have one of these with me. So, I had to use the images I had to demonstrate the concept.
Even if you use it like it's shown in the second image, the marks are at 180 degrees from each other. If the fingers are turned to that center mark, they are at 90 degrees.
Furthermore, you could align the portion attached to the wall to your laser line, as shown in that second image and ignore the center marks entirely.
