We are excited to announce a new product line to the Forged 3D family... SYS-GRP Work Holding solutions!

NEW SYS-GRP BENCH GRIP VACUUM PODS

IMG_4285.jpeg

Our SYS-GRP work-holding system is an adaptable and versatile solution that seamlessly integrates into your workflows and workshops. Built around the idea that work holding should be modular and address the particular problem. SYS-GRP Bench Grip Vacuum Pods can be used in horizontal applications or vertical applications, on MFT style workbenches with 20mm dog holes or traditional workbenches with 3/4" dog holes, with all the popular aluminum extrusion profiles and workbenches on the market or with simply fastening it to the side of a post.

SYS-GRP pods only require a vacuum source to work, this can be an online budget option, a higher end vacuum pump for veneering, the venerable, but no longer available, Festool SYS-VAC or even a Grabo Pro-Lifter 20. You can configure the pods to quickly deploy them when needed or build an incredible permanent work-holding solution with zones, quick release valves, manifolds, hidden vacuum lines and disco balls.

Paired with our SYS-GRP Rail Inserts, Anchor Dogs or bracket solutions flexible and functional vacuum work-holding fits into any workflow.

Available in three different Minimus, one Maximus and two Harpyie (face frame / narrow stock) configurations, SYS-GRP Bench Grip Vacuum Pods will change the way you work in the shop.

These things are so easy to make, and customize. Save yer $$$... FF to 12:20.

While we love the DIY spirit and readily will tell anyone that vacuum work-holding is not a novel concept, we can assure you developing an adaptable, approachable and affordable system that can fit into almost any workshop or job site is not easy task. Thanks for the feedback and opening up the conversation, we look forward to hearing what the community has to say.

That was a weird way to put down econoline, but I guess tit-for-tat. I've got a similar 3d printed one, which was gotten off thingiverse (2021 Smedwood, CC BY-NC-SA) that's pretty much the same design. I've made modifications myself but not selling them.

To compare to the SYS-VAC, you'll need it a lot higher or substantially overhung the MFT to clear the MFK and Conturo fence drop-over. As it is, low profile vacuum pucks are relegated as a novelty for sanding.

edit: At the very least man, put some attribution in the stuff you're selling. I see gwendal, matthijsbos, and various other people's stuff on your site. The bins are distinctively theirs as they both have tell-tale design choices. The very least they ask for is attribution via CC BY (the two named ones), but you couldn't be bothered. I even see fellow FOGer BKMake's square (sysbin) drawer mat, but while they didn't ask for anything - you could have at least done the right thing.

*sucks to be you that this was sitting on my desk while reading your post

It says in your description, that "it will change the way you work in your shop". Really, what's wrong with the way I work in my shop? I've spent a fair bit of time workin-out how to hold small, medium and large items with a Vac system. You're not offering any solutions to the problems that I've encountered. Hard for me to see the value here, but it's your right to try...

We were in no way trying to put anyone down. Apologies if it came off that way.

We will whole heartedly agree SYS-GRP today can’t replace a VAC-SYS head and with this initial release we aren’t trying to. We are simply trying to hit an affordable price in the market that is void of an adaptable and readily available option. Pods aren’t a novel idea, but putting an entire system together into something that is approachable is what we are trying to accomplish. We hope we hit the mark, if not we will keep iterating and improving until we do.

As far as attribution most all our designs are our own as we’d never want to try and steal anyone’s work.

We have partnered with a fellow maker to bring one of his designs to market and we have talked to several other folks about licensing ideas and designs that we thought could fit into our portfolio, but this is a rarity and when we have worked with a partner we’ve also brought our own ideas to the table.

Take that for what it’s worth, we understand there are tons of products in the space and design similarities can be seen as out right plagiarism. We were inspired by the Tanos organizer system like many other makers and have tried to expand upon it to build a wider and healthier ecosystem as we love what it has to offer!

We hope the FOG community likes our offerings and what we try to bring to the market. No tit for tat, simply bringing our wares to the dealer area to be good stewards in the community.
