I would sugest they add a chuck, and ring attachment so you can use it like a rotozip, some LED's to light up were yourare working like on the rotozip would also be nice.

Thanks for posting!   This looks veeeeerrrrry Interesting!   8)  It gives you a horizontal and a vertical router in one unit.   However, it's the "Scope of delivery" statement that looks very tasty:

Scope of delivery:
MFK 700 with extraction hood, 8mm and 1/4" clamping collet,
parallel side fence with fine adjustment and extraction
hood, operation tools, in SYSTAINER SYS 2

And just in case you missed it: 1/4" clamping collet!!!  No, I don't want to use 1/4" bits, but how many countries use them?   Would it be too much to hope for US delivery soon?   ???

About a week ago I posted about the Bosch Colt router.   (The general sense I got was that the Colt, while a decent router, had a few issues.)  The discussion included using a Festool OF1010 router, but the conclusion was that there was a lot of overlap between the OF1010 and the OF1400 (my router), and that the OF1010 didn't go far enough down to the trim router level.   At less than 1/2 the weight of the a OF1400 and about 2/3 the weight of a OF1010, the MFK700 should be a nice addition to the Festool US Router lineup.

That said, it looks to be a bit pricey.   Assuming the price relationship between the OF1010 and MFK700 is the same here in the US as it is in the UK (and the dollar doesn't keep devaluating), it should be about $400.

I did see this, but thought 'hmm, that's not new it's been around for a while'. It turns out I was confusing the new MFK700 with the older OFK700!!!

Wish I hadn't got them confused, I could have taunted you some more. Never mind, I'm sure Pat will be here soon...

My guess is that this new router will be available in the US soon.  Or perhaps that is just wishful thinking .  I  think I hate NAINA a lot! 

I am looking for a small trim router and now will wait patiently [or not so patiently] for this one to come here.

You promised that you would keep schtumm over the new factory but now the cat is out of the bag it is only fair to let everyone know.

DC is code for Dinas Caernadigan the new Festool facility 30 miles south of LLangollen. It was set up by a dissident group of NAFO's (North American Festool Owners) who were incensed at NAINA and wanted a selection of tools that were exclusively OAINA. As we speak a fleet of container ships full of Plug-its, belt sanders, Kapexes and the new semi-automatic glue gun are on their way.

Development work on the belt-fed, rapid fire impact driver has been temporary halted because a flock of mountain sheep have reclaimed their shed and Bryn, their owner, is too drunk to whistle them out.
