Had to move and leave my old shop behind.  After two years I'm getting close to finishing my new one.

[member=37255]dfuller[/member] -looks like a great start. What changes did you make based on the earlier shop experience?

Uh! Great question!
Looking forward to the answer! :)

Really nice side swing doors, roof over a LARGE area just outside.. massive space, clean tidy, even so cosy it’s is a nice place to sit down. And then there’s the machinery and tools  [eek]
Dream space! I envy you!

One thing i did differently is add this corrugated metal pony wall (covers up concrete foundation).  Behind it i ran tubing for air outlets and speaker wire.  If I want to add or change something I just take out a few screws.  Its also nice for cutting and grinding metal, sparks just bounce off.

Your shop looks great! I really like that corrugated steel wainscoting! Nice look and nice function! I also like your compressed air runs. Where did you buy the blue pipe and fittings?

Wow thats a nice shop. I hope my new one is half as nice as yours and Id be a happy camper

[member=37255]dfuller[/member] , could you elaborate on the wall-mounted air line connections. Never seen ones like that before. I like the angle and how it reduces strain on the hose.

Nice shop, I love the doors as well. I’m in the process of setting up my shop as well( guy I bought it from used it for his workshop, he built log cabins so the shop is a log cabin). I hope your enjoying setting it up as much as I . I too did some galvanized panels on one wall as well as a sliding barn door.

How many hours have you spent YouTubing , looking at pics, lol

Something else I LOVE is the suppliers have been great about giving me some bling(vinyl Sawstop, Festool note pads , pens, drink holders etc.

Thanks for sharing and keep sharing pics

Thanks everyone. The air tubing and manifolds are made by Rapidair. Northern tool and Amazon carry it. The blue quick release couplers are made by Prevost, these are really awesome, highly recommended.

Folks here seem to like my doors... I started with rough cut 3x10 cedar beams and milled them down to size. All joined together with Domino and Domino XL.  Strap hinges are from Van Dyke’s

I have purchased from RapidAir directly as they do offer free help on configuring a system for your shop, so you might consider that as well.  They have a ‘drawing tool’ for layout that will give you a sense of what you need.  And my phone consultation with them was very easy and understandable depending on the length of lines, number of drops, type of tools, etc.

The aluminum manifold wall plates and disconnects are excellent.

[member=37255]dfuller[/member]  - another noteworthy item is the way you provided daylight in your shop while preserving much needed wall space - especially in a smaller shop.

Is that a deck area above your shop entrance?

Hans

Yes, the added daylight was intentional.  It’s not a deck above the retaining wall, just a grass area from which my dogs survey the neighborhood.

Thanks. Found their website. They offer a kit for piping up your garage or shop using 1/2" nylon tubing.
Looks interesting but haven't priced it out yet.
