new sortainer modified systainers

i now have a sortainer 1 half way between a sys 1 and 2 in height and a sortainer 5!! which is like a sys 5 and a half lol full of router accesories and a sys mft hop up

Ha! How'd you do it?

there are 6 tabs inside the drawer boxes once the drawers are removed i used 3 snap on picks and some patience to unclip all 3 (per side) simultaneously you need 3 hands! very pleased with my sortainer 5  [big grin] and completely reversable

I'm guessing you uploaded them with an iPad .seems to be a common problem with Apple

Nice mod! Do you have a picture of the sortainer 5 as well?

While there at it with all this stuff we can't have in North America,  they should really think about making a single drawer the size of a sys1, it would be a sweet ad on...

I apologize for not getting it - can you explain what you did here?  The 5 appears to have a MFT top and the 1 a drawer.  I'm clearly missing how and what you did.

For the top MFT, i imagine you just switch the top with a SYS1 MFT. But for the single drawer Sys ??? How you do that ?

Very interesting.  I had no idea the Systainers weren't one molded part.  Now I need to get out in the shop and check it out.  That would open up a world of opportunities and maybe even change the way I integrate the newer designs into what I already have.

I noticed that they came apart when I got mine, but had no idea what to do with the 2 additional sections and drawers. What'd you do with yours?

The new drawer systainers are great, I managed to score two on EBay.  I used a Syst II version to transfer my MFK 700 into so that I could put the accessory bases in the bottom drawer, and I used another Syst I to put my Milwaukee 18V hammerdrill and impact driver into,and my bit cases in the drawer.  With this one, I also changed lids with lid drawer from a Tanos Syst II I got from Lee Valley.  Now this drilling case has practically all my drilling needs in one container.
