After 30 years in the trades and usual almost every other make of tool, I got the chance on a cabinet install to work with a furniture maker who brought his Ts75, Vecturo, and T15 to the job and shared their use with me. Immediately I was amazed at the quality and smooth running of the tools and how we didn't have to fight to adapt the cabinets and trim to the wonky walls. The whole job just went smoothly and the interchangeable drill heads made life so much easier. We saved over a day on my estimate of the install.
A week later I needed to sand several hundred feet of cherry and apple. My third, in five years, random orbital sander died, so I took the plunge and got an RO125 and a Midi. The job went quickly with almost no dust to tack off. I was sold. I took the combination on a trim job inside a nearly competed project and quickly saw how much time I was saving and how, for the type of work I do, my tools are woefully outdated and labourious. With no dust extraction on my saws I spent too much time cleaning every day instead of installing. I'd just accepted that as part of every job. Now I know different.
For the jobs I have coming up I'm already planning to add an HK55 with an Fsk 420 and 670 and an fs1900. I'll be getting a TS75 eventually. CT wings is a must have soon. And some sortainers to reign in all the bits for trim out.
