NEW TOOLS (N AMERICA!) June 1

All I know is, I was about to start a "Do I want a Fein ASCM 18 QX or a T18?" thread just before I checked my email yesterday.  Now the contenders make a magic number known as three.

My local tool stores would prefer I limit my options to Festool, however.

I wish that someone would send me a PM with the new tools being released soon  8)

With the exception of one that I'm not interested in.... I already own the others coming! [tongue]  Hint Hint [big grin]

I won't say more for fear of wrath from the Green Machine gods! [scared]

yep.  this thread and your comment made me think of this video.  the jar on top of the fridge, green lid and all, represents festool naina goodies and the piggy represents...nah, i better not; everyone should just make their own analogies...

Cute...I resemble that remark.  [wink]

Also, jobsworth avatar is on The Troopers post and jobsworth post  avatar is now a smiley face.

[size=12pt]Well that Avatar confusion surely provides an opportunity for Jobsworth to bring back 'BurgerWoman'!  [popcorn] [popcorn] [popcorn]

For newer members, in a past life, his Avatar was this -

Back to the main subject, most of the clues to what you can expect are viewable on UK site or at - http://www.festool.com.au

Obviously there will remain some NAINA due to voltage or compliance issues.

I'll see what I can do

Check out the reviews of the Fein on Amazon.  Some people complain of significant trigger lag.

I don't want to rub off topic as much as I already did.  I do say though: I don't trust Amazon reviews.

I made my decision though. t18 now.  pDC later.  :)

You won't be disappointed in the T18 yeti. I bought mine about three weeks ago and it's really....really nice. I already had the other chucks from my T15 kit I sold so I'm just running that and the CXS.

I'm rocking the new metabo and couldn't be happier. plus centrotec fits it so no lost investment in old bits.

It's a nice tool.  My corded power tools
are all Metabo.  Three of them have problems
that I'm going to have to live with, however.

I've not been a huge fan of metabo in the past but the new drill is a solid piece of kit.

I tried their sliding mitre saw before getting the Bosch glide. I liked the idea of an induction motor but as a package it just felt a bit cheap. So returned it. I also looked at their RO sanders and got the same impression.

Maybe it's a visual thing, they just don't look expensive...

Metabo seem to shine with grinders for metal or concrete work. this drill is also very solid and I really like the stepless right angle attachment, less fumbly to reconfigure than my t 15. As far as their other woodworking tools I can't really comment

I have the CSX and the T-18 and a few other corded drill including my 1/2" Milwaukee Drill that will spin me around it has so much torque.  It's not a drill I use often but If I need to drill a large hole - It's a killer.
