New TS 55 R Video

It looks like they have done as much as possible to match the MT55 without redesigning from the ground up. One thing that irritates me about the TS55 design is the power lead exits straight into the groove on the track and often gets caught, and on the recent model I've used the hoover connection is too loose and rotates of it's own accord. These are two issues the MT55 gets right and that's why I'm happy to be using one whilst my TS55 lives in the CMS module. I wouldn't buy the TS55R when the MT55 still has more than a few advantages, even though I have nearly the whole festool system.

So a knob is needed for the splinter guard but not the clear dust shield? Not really an issue, just an observation.

My biggest gripe with the TS 55 as well.  Strange but I've even had the cord get into the groove of the track in away from the end somehow and hang up.  BTW, no boom arm was used in the making of any of these frustrating moments.

The splinter guard is actually cut by the blade on first use, and rides right at the point of the cut where it takes some shocks that could knock it out of place. I doubt the dust shield is in contact with anything that's moving, so clipping it in is all that's necessary.
