A new CT 17 or a second-hand CT 33?
Same price.

What do you go for? (Or look out for if going secondhand)

Thanks

Richard

Well if size doesn't matter, then personally I would go for the 33.  One of the things I enjoy about the 22 and 33 line is the ability to exhaust air thru a hose connected to the round exhaust port.  That feature went away in the newer CT line.

If the CT33 is in excellent condition, you go for the CT33.

At the same price a good CT33 has more application value that a CT17 ... but that is without knowing your specific needs.

And - being helpful as ever - I will ask "Why not get both?"

If that doesn't fit in the budget or whatever, then I vote for the CT33 with it's larger capacity.

Hi Peter,
what exactly do you use this for?

Guido

There are two primary uses:  One would be ventilation.  I have done work in a dust enclosure and used the CT to collect airborne dust and have the filtered exhaust air exhaust outside the enclosure.  Creates a slight negative pressure.  You could exhaust the air thru a partially open window also.  The second one is that you can connect the exhaust of one CT to the inlet on another and pick up performance.  I admit that I don't have two so that isn't something that I have tried but I read about it here.  It might be an interesting thing to try with 50 mm hoses and stationary tools if you were in a shop situation and had several electrical circuits available.
