Curious what everyone thinks.  Seem very useful and the jumbo set has you covered to the point where you probably wont be stacking, which I could see being a huge pain in the butt.

Spendy, worth it though if you have the disposable income.

I prefer 1,2,3, machinists blocks as you can add attachments
to the threaded part of the blocks.

well, since you asked here's what i think:

"huge pain in the butt" is definitely an overstatement for something as simple as stacking a couple pieces of metal together.  i've noticed these type of overstatements in quite a few of the woodpecker videos as well, when they are describing some of the other 
tools.

it's a very nice looking set(s) for anyone who's addicted to the "red anodized".  however a lot of these things already exist, just as accurate and at better pricing.  i'm just imagining that they're going through the veritas catalog and making their own version in a different color.  why rush to grab this 'one time tool' when you can get the equivalent at any time from a machine shop supply.

speaking of machine shops, all these things are just carryovers from that trade.  that kind of precision is useful sometimes for sure, but i think that woodworking, due to the imprecise nature of wood, is more of a relational approach to measuring, rather than an absolute one.  so a set of calipers, a good tape measure and perhaps a story stick would more than suffice.

I have the Lee Valley set and find them excellent (imperial regular + 16ths set).  I use the 1-2-3 block a lot for anything you can think of, especially when cutting with my miter gauge to add an extra inch before the blade on thin cross cuts.

This set, while very nice, is insanely expensive for some metal plates.  I'm a huge Woodpeckers fan but their accessories and pricing lately has been off the charts stupid expensive.

The Woodpecker setup blocks look nice.  I'm not a big fan of setup blocks.  I get on fine with a tape and/or the Kreg Multi Mark and a pencil.  But for a few months I have been using the Fastcap Mag Shims, the metric version for some things.  They have worked great for me.  Small and compact.  25mm worth of shims all nicely held together with magnets, and fits in the palm of my hand.

I'm also a BIG fan of Woodpecker.  But lately, I'm slowly loosing interest in what they have to offer.  I have no problem with the pricing on some of their products.  It's the O.T.T gimmick that's annoying me.    Okay, okay, I'll admit it....the latest Woodpecker accessory for the Domino did drive me crazy...both on the price and the concept.

And the fact that Woodpecker is putting the setup blocks in a systainer, for me, I feel like they are targeting the Festool buyers with the systainer.  So they feel like they can jack up the price if they put it in a systainer.    Festools come in a systainer, with a hefty price tag ( But worth it!!!!)  So lets put our product in a systainer and the Festool guys will buy it!    For me, it's another gimmick to get the Festool guy to buy a Woodpecker product.  But that's just my opinion.  I may be looking for something to complain about......I've had a bad day today.    [mad] 

I'm glad Michael posted the link for the Lee Valley set.    IF I ever wanted some setup blocks I would pick up a set of those.

I'd have a hard time paying more than what the Lee Valley one goes for (and I can get it now instead of 6 months from now).  Anyway, if I really need that kind of precision in a block, I just cut one on the table saw to whatever 1/1000" I need with the Incra fence, and move on.

I passed on the Domino accessory and I will pass on this offering as well. In fact, the ONLY thing I really want from them is the 660mm precision square. That said, I'm actively looking for another vendor who offers one of equal quality that I can buy NOW, and can also replace if it gets lost, stolen, or damaged.

If Woodpeckers tools are so dang valuable (by purpose, not by price) how can they expect people to wait months to get them and then NOT be able to replace them if something happens? I'm sorry, but there is just something wrong with that whole business model...

I bought this "one time tool" the last time it was offered (not sure how it's a one time tool if it's offered again).  Anyway, while my set is only imperial and doesn't come in a nice systainer it's been my go-to setup system since getting them 3 years ago.  In all honesty, I like them so much I'm thinking of buying the 42 Piece systainer set since I only have the set of 13 right now.  I used a set of brass setup blocks before switching to these and have since retired the brass blocks.

It's expensive, but you get a top quality product as one does with all the one-time tools.

I am a huge fan of woodpeckers and respect that they make quality tools.  Can somebody help me see the value of the woodpeckers set compared to the LV offering?  Even if you were to buy a whole sheet of kaizen and then DIY the foam + a systainer (or l-boxx in my case), your wallet is way happier...

I saw the potential value that the domino setup offered for certain professionals, but I just don’t see the value in this one.

I've searched on Lee Valley's site under a variety of key words and can't find any setup blocks or setup gauges or anything. I have a 5-piece (cheap) set that works most of the time but would like a few more sizes. How is the Lee Valley set listed on their website?
