I've watched the videos and really considered the uses of this new offering. I can see how the "squeezing" effect would be useful. But, there isn't any apparent "hold down" capability. One would still have to position a hold down clamp somewhere on the table.

For example, the video shows a Domino being used on the long end of a board. The board is gripped using the wedge, but there isn't any downward pressure applied to keep the board from flipping up as downward pressure is applied as the Domino is being used.

I'm probably not making my concern any clearer, but I'd be a lot more interested if there was some way to include downward clamping pressure in the kit.

This is the exact style of holding I use on my Shopbot Desktop CNC. The series of stops and wedges securely hold the piece in place and I usually don't need any clamps unless I'm using a warped board with it. I may actually pony up for this one since I also really like using the dogs on the table and I'm making workbenches with the same pattern top for sanding applications.

I recently purchased the Parf dogs from Lee Valley and it was the first Festool system accessory that I was disappointed in. The short dogs were OK for fit but not great and the tall dogs are just too sloppy, the two don't even match in diameter making them pretty useless for straight cuts. I have Qwas dogs that fit the holes perfectly and ordered another set of those. Really hoping that Woodpeckers gets the fit of these dogs correct like the Qwas dogs.

[member=8711]Upscale[/member], that was another limited edition OneTIME Tool from Woodpeckers. It was only available for order for a short period, which has expired. So, it's no long available. But, some OneTIME Tools to come back from time to time, so it may resurface in the future.

I receive Woodpeckers notices on onetime tools. However, I don't remember receiving this particular Woodpecker notice. Were there any comments on the efficiency of this Domino/Woodpecker adaptation?

Thanks. Upon reading some of that commentary, it appears that I didn't miss much. The red color of Woodpecker's adaptions go a long way to making tools look good, but they don't always offer substantial improvement.

I was concerned about the size of the stems since some of the dog offerings for the MFT have been too small and had too much slop. I sent an email to Stephanie at Woodpecker and asked what size the stems would be. Following is her response:
"As for the diameter of the dogs, t he tolerance on the stems is 19.98/19.88mm"

I will be ordering this first time tool from the Nut as the size tolerance is large enough they should be a perfect fit in the dog holes on my custom made MFT top.

I am thinking not only will this WP product be handing for the Dogs and the clamping.  But is anyone else thinking it could be used as a template for making MFT style tops?

I think an actual MFT top is the best template for MFT style tops. And it is easily available any time for less money.
