I doubt Festool arranged the 96mm grid by accident. I'm going to guess that it was purposely engineered and had something to do with the range of the different types of clamping elements that Festool offers.
Thankfully I bought my Qwas dogs when Festool Junkie was still servicing customers. I like them (the dogs). They make squaring and registering items so much easier. Thanks for inventing them, Qwas.
