I have just opened my new of 1400 and noticed that there is no clear plastic dust extract the should fit to the under side of the side fence. Looking at the router reviews for the 1400 it says that you get one for the side fence ?
Any thoughts.

It is my understanding from past threads on the FOG that this is not a standard included accessory with the NA model of QF1400.

However I suggest you contact Festool US to confirm.

[size=13pt]Edit. Have been looking at AUS and UK sites/catalogues in past few mins. From what I can gather, this may not be an included accessory any more for anyone. Certainly it was when I purchased mine.

Thanks for the reply
It gets better, I have just noticed that there is not a full set of collets.
I got the of 1400 EBQ-PLUS GB 240 after seeing a review by the new brit workshop that said you get the dust extract and a set of 3 collets. I thought the review and the word plus would mean I had a set up ready for use.
I hope this is not going to set the trend for what I find in the grey boxes or whats the point in going for hi cost kit if it's not all in the box ?

Pretty port form if the OF1400 now doesn't come with the very piece the sets Festool apart ... DC [blink] [huh]

I may have a dust spout for that model if your not in a rush, I will have a rummage for it, no promises though.

Think [member=60804]Redcarjoiner[/member] is in the UK [member=13058]Kev[/member].

Either way, I don't believe it's standard in the UK OF 1400 kit either. That's the trouble with reviews from around the world and different in-country included items. You also need to be careful about how things change over time. In the past, I believe all three collets (1/2", 1/4" and 8mm) were included in the OF 1400 package in the UK, but at least for now, the 8mm is not and has to be ordered separately if you want it.

I was caught out with the very same thing when I originally got my OF 1400 - had to order the 8mm collet a few weeks later.

The definitive view on what is or isn't included in country is the country website.

Neither of these items are mentioned in the current scope of delivery for the OF 1400 at festool.co.uk.

It comes with the "above the table" dust extraction port, but the edge guide dust port is not standard in the UK scope of delivery.

Thanks for looking Garry.
As a new person to Festool it is making me think should I press on with the system. This is not low cost kit and the items I mentioned were in a UK review and I did get the OF 1400 EBQ PLUS GB 240.

It is best to check a manufacturer's website or the site of the dealer you buy it from to see what's included in a kit.

That's a good point Alex.
On the web site as a list of extras it shows a letterbox jig, a 90 degree adaptor for edge trim and guide rail adaptor so I ordered the guide rail adaptor at an extra cost of £43 or there abouts.
I would not expect to get that item as standard. There is no mention of being able to get a dust extract as an extra so as it was in the reviews I thought it would be part of the kit.

The below link is for the 2016 Festool UK catalogue. It shows the various accessories and cutters etc. that are available.

I feel your pain though; like I said, I fell for the exact same thing and had to shell out for the 8mm collet shortly after purchase. I always check the scope of delivery now before purchasing and ask if unsure as some of the descriptions are not exactly, let's say, intuitive...  [wink]

Well I bought one about 6 minutes ago (I'm still in the car outside Axminster) and had a quick peak in the systainer and there is a plastic dust extractor part.

Before I placed the order I looked at UK reviews and seen it was in the box and I also googled of1400 extras of which there was a few items but that was not one of them.
It is ironic that dust extract was the next item on my list so using the side fence there is no where to extract at the bottom. May be they are trying to squeeze a bit more profit for the sake of what to them would be a 50p bit of plastic, what price can you put on DISAPPOINTMENT.

Have any of you UK guys bought the 1400 that has the clear plastic extract port that fits to the bottom of the side fence ? and how long ago did you get yours.

Well I can confirm I've NOT got that and I bought mine today.

Hello Stu
I was expecting it to be in the box as I had seen reviews and was planning to use it that way.
