Since the convertion to the new format I can no longer connect to this website over my wireless network or the wired network in my house. All other websites work fine.
It is only the FOG that I cannot connect to.
I did not make any changes to the router before this happened.
I have a wireless internet service. The reciever in in my shop office.
A nework cable runs from the reciever to a wireless router.
A cable runs from the router to my shop desktop computer.
A cat5e cable runs from the router to a 5 port switch in the house.
In the house a cable runs from the switch to a desktop computer.
Also a cable runs from the switch to a wireless acess point.
The only computer that will connect to the FOG is my shop computer.
I cannot connect with hard wired house desktop or with the notebooks from any of the wireless connections.

Any ideas why the FOG is the only site I cannot connect to?

Sounds like everything's fine to me?! :D ;D

Sorry, I'm a smartass, not an engineer. :-\

Hmmm...  Have you tried closing all instances of your internet browser, deleting your cache, and retarting your browser?

Regards,

Dan.

That's strange.  I, even I, have had no problems accessing FOG before or after the recent rework of the site on any of my PCs, and some here know wll that I can mess up any PC.

Sounds like you need to clear your browser cache(s). Also restart all the devices. Sometimes when websites change, the browser doesn't recognize the change and still uses old files resulting in empty screens.

Chris,
Try this.  In IE, click on 'Tools', 'Delete Browsing History', "delete temporary files'.  That should clear your cache.

I have done that & it did not help.

Possibly an authentication problem - maybe your notebooks have an old login cookie. Try deleting all cookies for festoolownersgroup.com
This link might point you in the right direction.

You don't have a hosts file do you?

Try an nslookup from the command line and make sure it returns 63.247.87.250

Get a Mac
(sorry, had to throw that one out - I am a programmer and I use both extensively and try to maintain an agnostic stance, at least in public relations...)

Festool Owners Group is back in my home again. ;D ;D ;D.
I tried after lunch today & it did not connect. I decided I would try it tonight & the FOG apeared. I just tried the other 2 computers & they also connect.
I do not know caused the problem after the convertion & have no idea what fixed it. I am just glad it works again.
Thanks for all of the replies & suggestions. I tried all of them, without any luck.

Chris,

This reminds me a bit of the early days learning my way around Windows. My wife would get hung up on some Word function and ask me to help. I would blindly poke around trying to uncover something. She would say, "Tell me what you are doing." I would say, "I don't know what I am doing.",  and eventually it would work. She would say, "Show me what you did." and I would say, "I don't know what I did."  ::)

Hey Greg, I have several experiences like that when I am "helping" Margaret with Windows  :-[ and the conversation that we have is often exactly what you have quoted.  And, I used to work for Microsoft.  :-[

Debra once taught a co-worker how to cut and paste but failed to mention that she could also copy and paste. She butchered a lot of documents before being enlightened. ;D
