Non-Festool blades in TS55/TS75 - feedback?

I had to get my 48 tooth TS55 blade sharpened which means no blade for a couple of weeks. I ordered a replacement Diablo blade as a back up - a 40 tooth blade:

Has anyone used one - any issues? It’s less than half the cost of a new 48 tooth Festool blade.

It has a 2.4mm kerf rather than 2.2mm. I don’t imagine the extra 0.1mm will adversely affect the splinterguards but could be wrong. Has anyone got experience?

I have owned quite a few Freud blades and always was happy with the quality.  I never bought one for my track saws but I did buy quite a few by Oshlun.  They were quite a bit less than the Festool blades but for remodel jobs sometimes they were the better choice .

Use a 48 tooth Diablo Steel Demon when cutting around nails or suspect timber.

Oshlun is a good beater blade.  The main difference is the blade life, as the Oshlun will dull more quickly.

ceejay. It may not help you due to needing a blade now.
For the Aussie/Kiwis there are not many options especially with 2.2 Kerf
My limited experience and knowledge that changing the Kerf will slice as you stated. 0.1mm shouldnt make too much a of a difference. I just didn't want to take the risk/inaccuracy at the time - I like to think I want to be as accurate as possible LOL - I need all the help I can get. I would like to hear your experiences. Also where did you get your blade sharpened - for future reference?

I ended up buying an assortment of Axminster cutpro blades - cheap for Aussie standards. I bought all 3. Delivery was quick - I cant find what I paid for postage but I did include other items

I get my table saw and mitre saw blades sharpened at Brisbane Saw Services in Virginia. I’ve added the Festool blade to ‘the usual’ now I’m a FS user.

The Diablo blade will NOT do anything to the splinter guard as it sits in the same position as the standard Festool blade. The blade is attached to a flat hub on the saw so the additional kerf is just added to the RH side of the saw. That's the reason Festool can offer blades of varying kerf thickness for the TS 75 and it isn't an issue.

The issue that you do have to consider is the thickness of the riving knife. The riving knife on the HKC is 1.8 mm thick while the knife on the TSC is 2.0 mm thick.

So using a TSC blade on an HKC will work, although it may take a little more effort. However using an HKC blade on a TSC you could have issues with the riving knife jamming in the kerf.

Both Freud (Diablo) and Festool 160mm blades have the same 1.6 mm plate, while kerf (teeth width) differ. Having said that, in practice, 0.1 mm makes no noticeable difference on splinter guard wear.
