Closer view of the Tite-joint bolt as requested.
I like the simplicity of that clamp...it costs pennies instead of dollars.
I suspect the recess for that clamp is a program on the SO?
No, that is something that we have had forever. It is in the "shop" programs folder of the secondary CNC as a simple template, to be used with a plunge router with a bushing. It is there in several configuration; single, double, triple, etc. I also cut "odd" sized radii on the corners of these templates, to save space. We have standard sizes of corner round templates in full inch increments, for countertop corners, but different sizes come up and I just cut them onto a corner of my dog-bone template.
Saving them in the CNC, they are easily replaceable if someone pulls out before releasing the plunge lock. Yes, that does happen occasionally. The also get broken from being dropped once in a while, since they are cut from Corian scrap. I do them with the first OF1010, because of the dust collection. Keeping the dust/chips from packing up inside this small template is very helpful. I wrestled it for years, same as everyone else. Cutting part of it until it binds up, then removing the router and blowing the dust out and reinserting to finish the cut, was the norm. This is how people forget and damage the sides of the template. Good extraction cures this.
Yes, very cheap. We get them in boxes that are about a 10" cube. Hundreds at a time, for pennies.
They are the common bolt for everything, because they are so available. I use them to bolt together the sections of the big desks that I build. I substitute T-nuts for the rectangle nuts that come with them, but same bolt. Every wall/desk gets a ziplock baggie thrown down inside with the bolts to put it together and the ones for the access panels.
