Not a lot of love for the PD 20/4 or DR 18/4 drills?

I don't see a lot of love or people talking about these tools much. Any reason? Are they just unloved as a relic of a corded past or not great performers?

Both of these machines have a power cable and are NAINA.
Many drills these days have excellent performance with batteries.
And these drills are quite heavy for my taste.

The PD 20/4 is tiny and very light and very similar to the PDC 18v combi drill, less the battery but with a huge long mains lead that's about 25' long. However I sold it on as the battery life of the PDC 18 is so good I didn't really need it and it was very seldom used.

I have a crush on them, mostly because they're aesthetically neato.
NAINA, and probably NAINA forever.  We got the cute little rotary hammer, though, which was a pleasant surprise.

I have the Protool PDP 20-4. Best corded drill available, but I never seem to use it. Cordless drills have destroyed the corded drill for most people.

Let me know if you are selling it.
I broke down ordered some corded Kress drills off amazon.de...
Their small one appears to take the 90 degree stuff.
The bigger one has the 43-mm flange.

If I could find a decent drill stand for portable drills, I'd get big Festool corded drill to put in it.. Could also be a good back up is I needed to do a lot of work in a cold environment.

You can find The Mafell BST is a stand, and has the 43-mm collar.
At that point if was the A18-M , FT, or a corded drill.

The Kress was the cheapest 43-mm flanged corded drill.

There is a Festool Drill Stand, but it is for the DR 20 QuaDrill 1100W.
http://www.festool.com.au/epages/to...ooltechnic/Products/768932/SubProducts/768932

However I could only find it down here listed by an Aussie Dealer via Google.

Here is Festool UK link -
https://www.festool.co.uk/Products/...=768768&name=Drill-stand-for-carpentry-GD-320

I found something like this which was more what I was after:
Wolfkraft drill stand
I will make an insert for mounting the stand in the CMS so i could use the surface and the fence for drilling more precise depth and right angle holes..I think too I would put a corded drill in it for safety reasons it would be great to be able to use the CMS power switch..
The festool drill guide would be great for long holes through joists etc. I want it too!

The FT one I found for ~220  £
There is a Mafell version that has twice the stroke (650-mm) and the cost is also higher.
I think protocol also has one.

I am trying to justify one, but realistically I am not sure. But Emotionally I an sold.
