lol its okay m8!  Not really to fused! I wasnt really  [mad] just messing!      Yeah but the trousers cost like £50 each and all of them are like that and they have not worn out at all still going strong, they just look dead messy I know!  Its just a shame to throw them when they havent even got a rip in them after a year and most likely the new ones will end up like that after 6 months. 

I see it as, if ur to clean u dont work hard enough  [big grin]

What i do is scrounge sweatshirts or t-shirts from companies then use them to wipe silicone and glue on.... Under the armpits is a great place to wipe a nozzle on  [big grin]

YEah my mate does da wipe it under his armpits  I dont like da idea!    I do sometimes prepare my self  get a old t-shirt or something but  often I dont think a head I start then go oh ummmm where do I stick this crap oh on my legs lol!  Makes them waterproof

Nice looking project you have going. I wouldn't know what to do with those large timbers. All i ever get to do is boring framing covered with plastic trim....

Looking good JMB. Any details - photos on the tie beam lap assembly?Did you tenon / mortice these?

Sorry not pictures I struggle to take pictures at stages cus I either forget my camera of forget to take the picture.  They are not proper tenons only little stubs was easier and I believed it is good enough.   It has 12     200mm     6 each side stainless steel HECO screws joining it all together which will out last the wood.  

Also the stone work was done out of square which was annoying meaning that it had to be cut out of square was about 25mm out. The wall is all bowed so had no reference point so best was to stick the sides up and then go from their and adapt the tie beam to the sides.

I've got a green oak project coming up and was thinking about stainless steel fixings -  like is it totally resistant to wet oak? I seem to remember someone saying on here that green oak will eat them away!

Pain that the stonework was pised but 25mm is within tolerance for a builder [smile]

Yeah was cus it affected  everything on the right side of the porch.  The tie beam on the right side had to be cut into the wall plate on one end cus it was slightly hitting on one side first because the side was running out by 25mm  which then in turn made the angle cut on the tie beam over hand by 4mm so I had to  plane it down to the wall plate.     

It created another problem where you see the upright post has a curve well that kicks in slightly by 4mm also.  It also affects the rafters cus the birds mouths where all cut BANG on square and so the right side of the rafters needed slightly chiseling to fit properly.  The left side everything fitted lovely in one go.

I used part seasoned oak!  Since seeing the oak stairs I fitted out of green oak im avoiding green oak it moves way to much for my liking even it it was out side it moves ALOT.  I would if I was you try and get oak a little dryer if you can get the client to pay a little extra for it.

Well not sure about that but was told large normal HECO  screws are good enough to use for oak outside but to be on the safe side use stainless steel.    When getting the stainless steel screws it said on the package used stainless steel for OAK and Cedar due to the acid inside the woods. 

The stainless steel screws are VERY expensive!    £200  for a box of 100 screws I think it was 200mm
