all looks good but it looks like it is missing an up easing on the last section

Dean, you are right, well spotted.

Does look nice though, i like the white spindles with the Oak handrailing.  Was the bull nosed step made on site or bought from a joinery shop ?

Welcome to the fog ales.

Nice job Frank

Did you cut the handrail joints in on site with the upeasings?

It may be a UK thing but where the top section of handrail goes into the wall we normally finish off with a half newel.

Every joints was cat on site. End of handrail is owner choice, half newel or rosette.

Rosette is very common here.

No way meant as a critical comment, just interested in the different ways things are done. I have never finished off with a rosette but its always a future option!! [big grin]

Nice work Frank!
Are the risers and skirt boards primed wood or MDF?

The rosettes are common here too, but our UK brethren see otherwise [wink]

wouldn't need a post just an up easing from the 90Degree turn to the handrail to ease it up

Didn't look like there was enough room for an up easing...  obviously you could squeeze it, but the handrail might wind up too low or the spindles would be chopped down to the detail.  Anyone else have a thought on this?

Every other part flows nicely.  I think i could have gotten an up easing to work there.  It is a nice job but a good spot by Dean, that part looks out of place

Like Dean said 2 me! Its what we Brits do best spot the faults lol!

I was going to comment before as it looks kinda odd sharp angle up but I find the sharp 45degree angles down odd aswell and no half newel post. [unsure]  but I aint really in the good books at the moment for saying my opinions on something but seen as every one is commenting about it [smile] [tongue]   Still nice overall job!

What I am curious about is how did you fit the newel posts as you had fitted the oak floor and MDF and everything and had temporary soft wood post and hand rails in place which you then replaced with new oak newels. How did you fix them solid did you leave a hole so when you removed the temporary post you could slot the oak ones into?
