I am a beginner user with a router and need some advice for accessory purchase for a project. I searched some threads but did not find what I am looking for.  I am making cutting boards and some will have a juice groove. What do I need to be able to follow a 3/4" plywood pattern as I plunge into the cutting board to make a groove in the board? It looks like I need a guide bushing adapter and copy ring but it is not real clear to me how it all works. Thanks in advance for and advice.

I believe the 1010 still comes with the guide bushing adapter for regular two piece pc style guide bushings.  So you only need the right sized guide bushing for your bit and a jig/pattern to rout your groove.

I Hope that this will help...

I have made a two part video about the OF1010 and I hope that the accessories that come with it are the same in the US.

Here is Part 1:

Thanks for the quick reply, I purchased the OF 1010 on 1/4/2012. There was no guide bushing adapter in the systainer. If there should have been one in the box is it too late to request one?

Peter
Thanks, I will review the video right now.

The guide bushing is determined by the jig/pattern and the distance from the pattern I want to make the groove correct?

The guide bush and centering mandrel are both accessories for the 1010 that are not supplied with the router and have to be purchased separately in the UK.
I presume that will apply to US buyers also?

It is chicken and egg - either you choose your guide bush and build the pattern or vice versa. In reality, as the guide bushes go in stock sizes, it is usual to create the patter knowing what guide bushes you have at your disposal.

Somewhere I have covered guide bush, patterns and cutter diameter calculations in a video but I have not a clue which one - it is certain that I have been asleep a few times since making it !

Good luck.
