I put some molding around a table top and the molding sits a little proud of the table face.  I have my new OF 1010 -F and just accepted delivery of the guide plate and angle arm.  I have never used that set-up before so I watched a video demonstration by Sedge.  The straight bit he is using does not have a guide bearing (I am assuming the guide plate will eliminate the need for a guide bearing but my straight cutter has a guide bearing on it.  Is it necessary to use a straight bit without a guide bearing or can I set it up with my straight bit with a guide bearing?

It will work fine with the bearing. The angle arm hieght adjustment does not have to be as precise with the bearing. I set the bit depth so the carbide cutter is just barely over the protruding molding.

Finally got around to using the angle arm and guide plate on my OF 1010.  My trim bit had a bearing on top and it turned out it make it easier to trim down the table face molding.  The OF 1010 set up like this worked great.  Thanks for all your input FOGers
