Hey guys I'm strongly thinking of getting one but I'm just looking to hear from a few guys that have them all ready. I all ready have something like this running but just looking for a few more opinions

I have one , totally happy with it, it rocks! Plenty of power , very smooth,  not too heavy, great DC, quick change attachments.

Seth

Hey Seth  I made up my mind I'm getting 1 after seen a video Peter put up. It's the way forward no dust and the collection look great..

It has enough power to cut rebates in Australian Red Gum. A very tricky, and tough wood.

You will not be disappointed, particularly if you purchase the guide rail accessories.

I have one and used it to cut endless mortises in a marine style ladder I built.   I worked it like a slave that day ..  it never skipped a beat.

The dust collection is very good.  Ratchet for changing bits is clever and spoils you.  The plunge mechanism is smooth and stable.  The router has great power and the edge guide is really impressive compared to any other router I owned.  The electrical plug at the handle is a bonus and using a tool without it become's annoying..   If you buy a Festool 1400, it will be your go to router..

The router is incapable of handling large bits due to the base.  It annoyed me at first but was no big deal long term.   The guide rail system doesn't impress me, its sloppy and the adjustments are crude, but others seem to like it ..  Certainly not a deal breaker, I love the router.

Its a great router..

Don't do it - you'll only want more and more Festools [wink]

Yeh - it's really good, I love mine!

over all its great router, bit change and Dust collections are fantastic, for those reasons alone it is one of my goto routers.

the layout of the dust collection can get in the way depending how your work is clamped to the bench.  it would be nice to have 2 positions 90 degrees apart for the dust collection. (edited to add) this is pretty rare for my work, so its not a big deal.

Dear Farms 100,

It is so good I got a second so I did not need to change bits when using a dovetail jig.

OF2200 has more power and handles bigger bits but is heavy, for control on finer work OF1400 beats it every time

I don't know if this helps but I have eight routers in my shop and I couldn't begin to tell you where seven of them are. Haven't seen them in a long time. Just the ratcheting spindle is enough to buy it, let alone the dust collection

Well guys just to give you a update I went into my local dealer today and got the  of 1400 with the 36mm hose... Anyway when I was there I started looking through the catalogue (big mistake) so just as I type this up the 1400 is looking at me begging to be tried out.. Just lets hope all the extras are as good as the router... Ha

Congratulations on the new toy! Have fun!
The OF1400 is my only Festool router at the moment. I'm trying to decide which one I want next and hoping that I don't end up with all of them  [eek]

Runhard,  the MFK-700 is a great #2 ..  For edge treatment its my go - to router .. Super easy to set up round over bits compared to other routers..

You must have the set. As soon as your NA mob get their act together you can dedicate a OF2200 to a CMS module [wink]

I keep going into my dealer thinking about OF2200 and TS75 in CMS modules and have walked out with 5 unrelated Festool/Protool tools on 5 different occasions [embarassed]
