I'm using my OF 2200 with my Festool router table. I would like to replace the legs with a custom built cabinet. When the vacuum hose is connected to the OF 2200 it sticks well below where the bottom of the table would be without legs. Is it possible to remove the tube from the router? I could buy a spare one and cut it down to use when the router is in the table. My FAS is telling me to buy a OF 1400 to solve the problem.

Buy an OF 1400 to "solve the problem"?!?! LOL

How about buying the tried and true Porter Cable 7518 3.25HP motor and using it in any one of the great lifts that are out there?! I highly recommend the Incra with the CleanSweep magnetic inserts! MUCH nicer setup. You can even buy or build a router box around the motor to provide under table dust collection. I recommend the Rockler metal one.

Leave the Festool routers for handheld work.
