I just got an OF 2200, metric.

Is there a conversion kit to imperial?  If so, how do I get it?

Real funny Holmz  :)

I wouldn't mind changing the scale on my OF 2200 as well.

Or I can just ask Siri, and she will give me an answer for values not on the table, and to excellent precision.

I'd post a picture of my iPhone with Siri's answer, but it doesn't seem to able to take a picture of itself.

However, she doesn't know how to answer the original question.  She found a propane powered generator when I asked.  So figuring that the FOG could do better than that, I'm asking :).

It may be easier to find someone getting new one, but who would prefer a metric unit.

There is plenty of adhesive measure tapes of various styles and width on Amazon. I'm sure you can find one that fits.

There are plenty of fixes, I think the OP and myself  simply want the conversion scale that Festool mentioned would be available. At very least a replacement part number for the imperial version.

Why would he  want to toss on any old thing on a brand new 900.00 router? I am not into doing anything at all no matter how simple to a brand new 900.00 router, it needs be what I thought it should be when I purchased it. And at this point in the US thats Imperial.

If I purchased a brand new OF2200 I would send it back and ask for the  imperial version. Or whoever i purchased it from could send me out the Imperial scale on their dime.

...

I agree it would be a nice gesture for Festool to supply these for people wanting Imperial.

And as they are trying to peddle the gear in North America it seems reasonable to supply them.

So I just read the description on the Festool web site, and the only difference is the depth scale????  I'm not sure what I expected, but probably something a little more than that.

If that's the only difference, this is not a big deal.  I can't remember ever using a router's depth scale to set the bit depth, except to get in the ball park, and I can do imperial to metric conversions in my head well enough to do that.

...but I do have another question about metric vs. imperial accessory sets for the OF 2200 that I'll ask in a new thread.

Yes, on the new imperial version, the depth scale is imperial, and the rotations of the micro-adjust are in metric.

Oh man... I did not know that and I just bought brand new Imperial versions of the OF 1010, OF 1400 and TS 55. Shouldnt make a difference on the TS 55 though right?

Same thing as the routers, scale in imperial, adjustment in metric.  [eek]

Basically the tools are all still metric but they simply changed to an imperial scale. They're still beholden to their bean counters.

I was near Proctor once about 2 hours out of the cities... and the rental car was on metric. (Now-a-days they do both, but this was digital).
The cop asked if I wanted it written up as 75 or 125  [eek]

People who weigh 105-200, also seem to also look better when the units are in imperial  [tongue]
