OF1010 Use

The circle jig connects the slide and the router base plate. The base plate and the slide make up the interface package. They also sell the slide seperately from the package. The purpose of the router base plate is to adjust for the height of the circle jig, slide, and rail.

My colleague has the OF1400 and I have the OF1010, I almost never miss the muscle of the OF1400. Together with the small Bosch edge router/trimmer I find I can do pretty much all I need.

My Festool dealing "friend" (that's what they tell us; "you are my friend, so let me show you thissssssss...." said in a hissing voice) sold this junkie the CMS-insert for the OF1010 router, for chump change. Never used, just dusty.
Funny thing is I have had some bad timing with my investments: I custom built twelve windows for a house built 1920, in the same style and would have loved to have the CMS router insert but did it the old fashioned way. Since I got it I haven't had a single job that requires routing so the CMS insert is one of the closet campers, literally falling out of the closet everytime I open it up...  ::)

PS
My Festool dealer and his brother are top notch, don't you think nothing else!  ;)
