After using the OF2200 several hours everyday for over a year there are only a few improvements I would want to see.

1) A integral light, a bright one, just as bright as the camera light ring I use and had to add on.

2) An even more clear plastic for the clear dust collection drop down shoot so when lit up the bit view is nice and bright. Possibly my plastic became less clear over time?

3) The clamping mechanism for edge guides and circle jig rods just has to be made into a 4 point contact clamp instead of the two point contact clamp used now.

    A) A cheaper less desirable alternative is to have two threaded holes over the non clamped contact points so brass      thumb screws can be used to manually clamp at those points.

Other than that the router is near perfect. Believe it or not I wouldn't mind even more power, but as it stands now it's the most powerful router I have ever used or owned other than my CNC spindles.

If these 3 things were done it would be the perfect router. Right now its the best router, but NOT the perfect router.

I know this has been talked about before so I didnt place it on my list and know it can't be done, but having the cord that comes off would be so much simpler. Right now it's so easy to change out all my tools as I work. Everything except the router only requires popping off the hose and cord and putting them on the next tool in the sequence of my work flow. I guess I can add one of my 20 pig tails I stocked up on years ago, but I haven't had the heart to cut up this router cord.

If you have any other improvements for the OF2200 post them up in this thread. I am ready to purchase the new and improved OF 2200 when it comes out.

The light would be a huge improvement and a little less weight, for me, thoughs are the only reasons I still use my Makita 3 hp routers as much as I do .

I would think that adding an LED light or two would be an easy engineering mod for current production router models.  A retro fit light kit would be a great idea, too!
