Hi All,
I am going to pick up a Felder BF6-26 combination machine on Thursday. As part of the "package price" there is a Felder 16" bandsaw. They are not sure of the model number. From looking online, it seems to be a 1992 Felder 540. I gather that it is most likely made by ACM for Felder and the very few posts I have seen say the ACM machines are pretty good.

Does anyone have any more info or firsthand user reports on the BS?

If I buy the BS, BF6, and a dust collector he will take 10% off the price so the BS would in effect cost me about $600. It's listed at $1095. Good deal? I am not really in the market for one currently but I could see myself using it if it's a good machine.

The other question is on the BF6. It is said to be a 5.5hp single phase machine. One comment I was able to find online is that the Felder single phase machines did not like US 60 cycle power. Is there any truth to that rumor (again, only one post that I could find). Any info. would be greatly appreciated.

BTW- I have looked over at the hammerfelderusers.com website, not much there unfortunately.

Thanks,
Greg

The 540 was and still is an ACM built machine though recently I believe its been replaced with the Felder built 510. 540 refers to the wheel diameter which converted makes it 20" + bandsaw. At that price its a steal. If you want to get more info on the combo its probably better to joined The original FOG, Felder Owners Group. Its been around since the early 2000's and you will hopefully be able to get a little more info their. The older machines don't get discussed that often but there are members that have owned them. I've personally been with the group since 2007, the main moderator is Brian Lamb.

Hi John,

Thanks for the info. After a little more research I believe its actually a 440. I will join the original group.
