Oneda dust deputy cyclone

Well I went by the local woodcraft today to see if they could get the new oneda dust-deputy cyclone for the CT vaccum.   I've looked at it for a while now and decided what the heck.  I could order it from oneda for $249 + 19 shipping.   The manager indicated he had seen it and would see what he could do.  He called back and indicated they would start to carry it, and it's going to end up a little cheaper but not much but heck a few bucks is a few bucks.   Anyway,  I will have it next week and will post a review once I get it.  Anybody else here have one?

I'm curious if this would be "mountable" on a CT Mini or Midi?  Does the Oneida box clip on using the Sys latches, or just sit there in the hose garage of the CT22/CT33?

It seems like the most "bag" for the buck would be realized with the lower capacity vacuums.  You get the extra volume capacity (for many fewer emptying trips) and also use fewer bags.

It latches onto the vac.

The only possible problem is that you do loose a small amount of suck.

So if the vac is just coping at full power it may not with a cyclone in the loop.

I use a clearview with a CT22 and there are almost no problems.

I haven't tried it yet, but it should have no problem mounting. It mounts just like another Systainer to the Sys-Dock.

I don't know how effective it is but I suspect it has similar qualities. I'll find out tomorrow and report.

I picked up and installed one on a CT22.  It mounts easily and the dust collector is sturdy.  There does not appear to be any loss of suction and I look forward to not constantly changing bags.

I also have the NAAM (not available any more) ClearVue cyclone on one of my CT22s.  As mentioned, the new DD should mount onto a Mini or Midi as well as the larger CTs. 

As for the most "bang for the buck," that would arguably be the one of Oneida's other models of their Dust Deputy.  This new version made for the Festool extractors is a premium, but the basic model does the same job for less $$$.

Does anyone know what the small plastic tubing is for that runs from the Oneida Container to the 90 degree elbow that enters the Festool Vac... it can be seen in picture #3 of the 4 thumbnail pics.

I'm assuming it applies suction to the bag to keep it out against the wall of the container.

The bin is about an inch shorter than the handle, but with the cyclone on its top it is much taller than the handle.  If you need an exact measurement let me know.

The unit that I purchased and installed does not have the small plastic tube.  There is no reference to it in their instructions.

I do not have the handle assembly, but have the DD/Festool on my CT22.  The outlet out the top of the cyclone is pretty high up, probably more than 4ft off of the floor.  The black plastic dust container looks similar in size to a systainer 4.  Add the cyclone at another 12-16" high or so.
