I was told by my local woodcraft that there perhaps is an overheating issue using the oneida dust deputy with the Festool dust extractor. Is this correct? I want to use the Oneida system specifically made for the Festool extractors.

I dont speak for Festool or Oneida, but there have been cases in the past where CT Vac circuit boards were fried while using the Dust Deputy, I think it was a static issue, not an overheating issue. Oneida made some revisions to the Dust Deputy to address static issues. Festool however, will most likely tell you that they cant comment on, or recommend, aftermarket add on parts, and your warranty may be called into question as well, should a repair to the CT Vac be needed for this reason ---

That said, I know there are plenty of Dust Deputy / CT combo users out there-

I have used the Ultimate Dust Deputy with my CTe 22 for years. Wouldn't be without it!

ditto.

Longest I've run it tho at one stretch without stopping is probably 15 minutes with an RO150 in an unconditioned garage during the summer. 80+ deg F

Double ditto with my CT26.

festool dust extractors have bypass motors which have a separate cooling fan. This keeps them from over heating even when the vacuum flow is stopped for short periods. They then have a temperature sensor that will turn them off until they cool down if they get too hot. You should have no problem. Don

We're they (woodcrapft) advocating your buying a larger vacuum unit?
