Oneida Supercell to Kapex

Thanks ChuckS. I had bought a sawstach months ago and forgot about it.

I just installed it and will give it a try.

That's disappointing.

I don't think so. The SuperCell was going through over 30' of ducting with 5 90 degree bends and 4 T junction blast gates before it went to the Kapex 36mm hose.

What IS disappointing is I thought a better test would be to connect the 36mm hose directly to the SuperCell. Kind of an apples to apples comparison. Well, the anemometer stopped counting at around 90CFM and then the little fan fins exploded on me...

Good news is the SuperCell is really strong. Bad news it cost me an anemometer to find that out the hard way.

I'm going to keep my Kapex hooked up to the CT15 as it has the autostart feature.

You may want to reconsider this.

During Kapexgate it was suggested that it was better /safer to dedicate an entire circuit to the saw motor rather than share power with the vac turbine.  Kapex motors apparently were more prone to failure when the current was throttled.

Of course there never was a motor issue, and a fix *cough* upgrade was made to the motors that made them stronger and less sensitive - but who knows?

I haven't heard anyone complaining about the new motor (REB saw model) since its release (2 to 3 years now?), so I assume they have taken care of the perceived or real Achilles heel of the saw. I use mine (EB model) with an auto switch (the yellow box in the image), but the switch provides two separate 15A outlets, one for the saw and one for the vac.

For the record, I used my Kapex with a CT26 for two years+ with zero issues before I sold the CT (at a very good price). I saved a ton of money by replacing it with a Dust Deputy/Shop Vac (Hepa filter)/auto-switch.
