Opinions on CT SYS?

I have one, currently with the reusable bag dedicated to a small ClearVue cyclone for my CMS-OF. Works nicely.

Was my first VAC that I used often with the Domino, TS and RO 150. For the latter I got myself a hose adapter with adjustable side air to reduce suction when sanding, but then stumbled over a cheap used CT 26 (and not long thereafter over a cheap, used but practically new, MIDI) which make this easier as these have variable suction.

The blower function of the CTL-SYS can be useful at times.

The only thing I really dislike is that there is no room inside the CTL-SYS to hold the #440404, which I use way more often than the D 36 PD that is sitting inside the vac. Apart from that it has its uses, like final cleanups where I carry it around (with the strap and without the hose garage) to not leave marks on the floor.

I grabbed someone else's idea and changed the top unit to a modified Systainer.  Sys - II with MFT lid or regular lid. I  have tried it both ways.  More room for accessories and dual purpose. Follow link for more.

CT-Sys worked very well with the 36mm braided hose even with a used bag.

The 36mm hose fits perfectly on the Milwaukee 7-1/4” cordless miter saw and the Milwaukee cordless planer. Dust collection very good with both of them using Azec foamed pvc.

The simple on-off switch could be operated with my toe while the vac sat under the table saving me from reaching down. Really appreciated that.

I've come close to several times to buying a refurb. I'd like to use it for exterior work, mainly refinishing/painting my house. But then I think about cordless dust extractors from other manufactures, mainly backpack models.

Then I wonder if the cost of those backpacks ($$) and run time of batteries ($$$) is worth not tripping on a cord..
Then I wonder whether or not I want to keep up with the capacity of CT-SYS on this strip job...

And then I never buy one.. The plan would be to emulate what Steven Johnson has constructed in this Backpack CT SYS video. Throw my Ghostbuster jumper on and get to work.

Anyone see any issues with the unit operating in this orientation? What about running this thing for hours - is sanding all sides of a 1500 sf asking too much of the CT-SYS?

When Festool makes a bluetooth triggered class M cordless version I'll be all over it.
That way it would cope with the UKs different voltages from sites to household with just a spare charger.
Till then, I'll stick with a CTM26.

Both would be nice with each for a different reason
