Everyone, thanks for your patience while I waited for Fein to get back to me with the information about the orange Systainers. We're accepting preorders for these with an expected launch date in about a month according to Fein.

Fein Orange T-LOC Systainer, SYS 1

Currently, the inserts are not available but I'm also working to get those and will let you know ASAP when I have more info. Also, it looks like only the SYS 1 size is available.

Nothing on a SYS 2 currently. I suspect because the MM will fit in a SYS 1, so no need for them to have a larger size available.

I currently have the dark grey Tanos Systainer with the insert for my MM, I think that is a SYS2. Is that correct? Do you know how well the MM fits in a SYS1?

Eddy, you can determine the size of your current Systainer by counting the number of horizontal lines under the label area. I know that Fein is offering the MM 350 as a special edition with a Systainer SYS 1 right now. So, presumably it fits just fine/fein.  [smile] But I admittedly have not seen it in person since they're still preorders right now.

Fein does offer a branded SYS 2.  They offer a cordless MM in it outside the US.  Here's an example from the UK site: http://www.fein-uk.co.uk/en_uk/oscillating/supercut-construction/afsc-18-wood-edition-0314664/

Tanos makes a Fein MM insert specifically for SYS 2 (http://www.amazon.com/T-Loc-2-Insert-FEIN-Multimaster/dp/B00GQZJT00) which would be a nice match with a Fein branded SYS 2.

Looks like EPP to me, which isn't as nice as a rigid plastic insert like the Tanos one.  Wonder if Fein is custom making that insert, since the only place I've seen Tanos use EPP is lids of in the "cooltainers" for insulation.

I recall another member using a SYS 1 for their MM and saying it was a pretty tight fit, which is probably why most people are interested in a SYS 2.  Also probably why Tanos chose to go with a SYS 2 sized insert, not to mention, it can hold more stuff.

Thanks, I never new that trick. I'll check when I get home from this torture referred to as work... [crying]. At least it's the vehicle I use to buy more Festool...my wife says I need help. I really don't I can shop and buy all the Festool I want all by myself. [blink]

Guys, after another email to check the status of this with our Fein rep, I was told that Fein has decided not to sell the Systainers separately after all. Sorry for the bad news.

In the end, I purchased the orange Sys2 + insert when I was in NL last month. It was a hassle getting it back, but worth it (maybe).

I wish it was easier to get these things over here. Same can be said of all the other NAINA items (2m MFT side rails for example!)

just saw these this morning at Burns power tool in Fall river MA , they had about 8 stacked up but had no emptys
