Ordered a Kapex

Well, I am selling my Bosch 5412 tomarrow and I just had to order a Kapex.  I know, horrible huh?

I am getting the table for it as well.

My question is this:  For those of you who travel with your tools, what are you using for a stand for your Kapex?

My buddy has his on a gravity rise Bosch stand, pretty nice but, almost as much as the kapex MFT.

I have one MFT/3 so it seems obvious I should get the kapex table as well.

What are you guys using. 

I am excited and nervous at the same time, I had a couple good jobs that got postponed for a couple months, so you know how that goes.

Best of fortune on your purchase.  I am sure you will be thrilled with it.

I think the little mft would be a good choice.  the other idea might be a second full size mft and  make some kind of tray that would lock into the side rails of the MFT3 at the proper height.  Then  you could use the fences as the back stops for trim.  but as I dont use the Kapex (lil Mak) or the mft (walko's) it is not on my horizon to make any. ;D  unless Festool wants to send me a couple for prototype work : :

congrats on the purchase. you will not be disappointed with the kapex.

i only use the kapex in my workshop. so i made my own mdf cabinets for it.
if i was bringing it on site. i would consider buying the kapex mft.
working onsite, i use an aluminium drop saw bench which is called a "tommytucker" bench manufactured locally in brisbane, queensland.

fyi, i have also replaced the plastic zero clearance throat plate, which the blades drops into at the end of a cut.
i made a few replacement throat plates from forest red gum(hardwood).
everybody that has seen my saw, loves this little personal touch.
maybe i will start my own tool show! pimp my festool!

I am using the Saw Helper table & wings. Nice and compact, with fast set up, that is if they are in production at the moment. I think it was Eiji Fuller who made a nice set up similar to this, do a search. Highly recommended is Mr. Fuller's modification to the table using nylon washers, if it is not here go to the other spot.

I've been using the MFT/Kapex with mine and like it very much. I take mine to job sites and I like the way I can use my MFT/3 to support longer pieces. It is all fairly easy to lug around.

I've since changed the metal braces to a let on each extension that extends directly below the extension to the floor.  They are hinged with screen door clasps to fold them up for transport.

This also allows me to use the extensions on my MFT/3 as well.

when I  had mine I bought the small mft table for it, as you can buy the knobs that you anchor to the table... then I used the sawhelper stand for the wings.  unfortuniitly they are not in production and closed up for ?

you may want to search craigs list or ebay for a used one, and be prepared to pay.. brand new they are about 500 bucks but worth every penny and then some.. however you might get lucky and find one at a good deal as the seller may not know they are out of production and can get some major bucks  in fact prob their money back. 

or make some wings and fly away!!!  enjoy your saw and I think they have fixed the kinks.  but it is a great saw and has lots of keeno features!

Just got it today.

First thing I noticed was, this saw is light, very light.

I like the table for it, works nice with my other mft/3.

Well, back to the garage to do a little playing, I mean work?  8)
