Been wanting to do this for some time now.  The box my multi-tool came in was garbage so the toll floated around in one of my sys-boxes or got piled on top of other stuff.  Never could find the blades when I need them.  Honestly didn't even know what I had.  The base is 3/8-inch Baltic birch.  I ran out so I used 1/2-inch Baltic birch for the dividers.  Wish it was 3/8ths but I can live with what is probably not much heavier.  Compartments are built around the tool and the tool is located where it needed to be for the box to be balanced.  Still need to put laminate on the bottom and a few other visible spots but it'll have to wait until another weekend.

Tool slots are 1-inch black HDPE (aka Star Board) with 3/16-inch slots milled in them.

Made a special one up front to hold smaller and odd-shaped blades.  In most cases, each slot will hold 2.

Great idea and really nice work.

I was not happy with the blow molded case for my Fein and ended up transferring it and the blades to the drawer in a SYS-COMBI III.  It is better than the blow mold but not as nice as your custom insert.

Very nicely done. How are you milling the hdpe?

Thank you.  I cut them on a full size CNC knee mill.  Good for cutting small parts but size limited compared to a CNC router table.

Man, I'd love to have one of the new Combi's.  Can't wait for them to be available in NA.  I'd take the integrated drawer any day.

Jeff has one and he's from canada, hmmmm

I could order one from overseas for about $30 more than they'll probably cost once available here.  I just may..

I hear u, I'm a few Systainers into a full conversion and it's moving slowly because I don't want to waste time and money doing some twice

Is it a sys 1 box? or sys2? I'd like to put my Multitool into a systainer too, just not sure of size required.

Mine is a Sys1.  The base plate is 3/8-inch Baltic birch and I did not route reliefs for the bottom webbing of the systainer.  That means you could gain about 1/4-inch more depth if you need it.
