Knew this was going to happen...built a porch out front and now my wife wants me to make a couple rocking chairs  [eek].

I'm always up to the challenge but worried it will take a long time to build these. Searching for designs I came across several that are Adirondack chairs with curved rockers attached to the legs. I made an Adirondack chair and love-seat many years ago but don't know how they would function as rockers.

Any advice on building outdoor rockers or if Adirondack rockers are any good appreciated.

Thanks,
Mike

You can't go wrong with the Adirondack plans from Veritas, they are very comfortable and tried and tested for many years. I made a couple 20 years ago and the rocker alteration was included in the plans.
I have made a traditional turned rocker for a client (also many years ago) but you can fit rockers onto most chair designs.
Hope your project goes well.
Rob.
