packaging error in consumables

i'm not the kind to count all the abrasives in a box of 100 to see if it really contains 100, but when i opened my box of 10 green vlies pads and saw it only contained 5 i was a bit surprised.
I checked the box and it said 10x, i checked the bill and it said 10x, and it was the same price as the box of white vlies pads that i took as well, and that one did contain 10 pads.
The two boxed were taped together as i had my dealer order them directly from festool since they don't have it in store. and most important the seal was intact.

These cost €3 a piece, so i called my dealer and you can imagine how fun it is having to explain that and hoping they will believe you. But luckily they know me well and said it was no problem that i would get 5 others when i would come by.

Next time though i will systematically open my festool consumables at the counter to see if everything is really there!

I Almost had the same joke with my CXS, but lucky for me the vendor noticed before me that the angle chuck had been stolen on display, so they ordered a new one for me.

I bought a Kohler kitchen tap once at HD and after 90% of the installation work being done couldn't get it to fit flush properly on the base of the counter.  It became obvious that the unbendable very rigid molded base part of it was warped in a concave manner.  When I went and brought it back, I felt the evil eye of the gal on the returns counter thinking to herself "This guy damaged in during the course of installation", but she nevertheless was processing my refund even though I said I wanted to exchange it.

I got a hold of a plumbing associate, told him what happened, and said the next unit of the same model I wanted to buy, I preferred to open the factory sealed box to see if another unit had the same unuseable defect before taking it home.  We went thru all 11 boxes they had in stock, and only 2 did not have the defective base plate.  I then took him with me to the returns counter to let the girl know what had transpired, so that the next time I came in she did not have me pegged as some evil returns schnook.  Suddenly a very jovial conversation commenced, and obviously that girl did have me labelled as such otherwise had I not revisited the returns desk.  I thought it was well worth the effort when you are constantly at their returns counter working on a big project over time.  They get so many jerks abusing their returns policy/system, I didn't want to be labelled as one of them.

Would like to see you count your dominoes at the counter next time you order a bag of the 4mm size. [big grin]

bummer bro.  Did they make it right?

As i mentioned my dealer will give me the remaining 5 when i go back, i hope they get refunded. It would suck if the dealer had to pay for an error from Festool.
Besides that shane asked me for pics and details so he could get that info to the HQ.

I do think they take note of what is said on these forums, last year i ranted about the stick fix of the vlies pads being too agressive and tearing off the pad when trying to remove them from the sander. I noticed that the new Vlies pads have a much less aggressive stick fix net.

I recently had a customer order several grades of Granat and one of the 10-packs that was labeled 120 contained 240 instead.

Stuff occurs...

Tim, I did forward that information on to Germany so they were made aware of the problem. And, yes, Germany does pay attention to this forum even though they don't actively participate. When I was there a few years ago, the forum was open in web browsers when I talked to several people.

So I would imagine by now there's a separate Robertson bit monitoring division and an Alan m wishlist division?
