Those of you that have the Parallel Guide System how are you storing it?  I remember awhile ago someone had a really cool looking storage in a metal case with foam inserts cut out for specifically each piece.  But i am looking for everyones ideas on this....More specially in your own specific shop and not mobile!

I hang them on long peg board straights (as opposed to hooks).

Yes Sal!!!! That is awesome and I believe you were the one who originally showed it unless someone else is also doing it

Nice box.

I can't believe Festool doesn't have a case for this.  Do they think that only people with home shops or only pros that never go on site buy Festool? If they sold the item in a case I would move on it. But If I have to find/make my own case the cost needs to go down a lot on this product.  Count the number for product Festool sells that doesn't come with a case

Cheers,
Steve

Still working on the main guides solution - too bad Festool doesn't make them in sections that join with something like the LR32 connectors for accuracy....

Unless I am not reading the OP's English correctly he stated for SHOP USE not portable. Therefore I am including some pictures of my SHOP USE storage setup for my parallel guides and parallel guide extension sets. Easy to make and install.

The guides hanging between my Festool storage cabinets.
[attachimg=#2]
The extension set hanging on its support beneath the main guides.
[attachimg=#3]
Close up of the extension guide support and my patented Parallel guide end support. (Just kidding about the patent).
[attachimg=#4]
Wide shot showing Parallel guides, extension set and end supports.

Close up of the main guide support hanger.

Close up of other side of the main guide support hanger.

Another shot of the extension support hanger.

Oh lest I forget those portable carrier setups for the guides look great!

How could UL hold up a case?  [poke]

Dinkjs     This is my method for storage

Sal

This makes it look like I abuse mine since I just store them on top of a wall mounted cabinet

I have mine mounted up and out of the way!

Mine are firmly held in place with roughly 30N of force.

I also heard that some people put stuff inside of systainers.

Not when they are making money with them [thumbs up] empty systainers mean your working....or you were just robbed [doh]

As far as Parallel Guide System transport case.... I still want a case to get them to and from a location.

Cheers,
Steve

I would never have guessed they weighed (3.1kg/6.7lbs) that much.  [big grin]
I would have to count the cardboard boxes mine came in.

I'm glad my science geekery didn't go unappreciated.

... 4.1kg w/ extensions.  yes I did just weight them  ::)

ileave mines attached to a 1400 guide rail and have it hung on some hooks (plastic coated) screwed into the wall studs

I have all my rails hung on the same hooks.
