It can be done, BUT you'll have ~7/8" of each of the parallel guides' castings off the rail and you'll have to start the saw with about half of it off the rail. Not a good recipe for accurate success. You're better off using the 1900mm (75") rail or joining two 1400mm (55") rails together.
I actually do it fairly often but not with the Festool guides. I have the guides from Precision Dogs. I have them in about 150 mm (6 inches) from the ends of the rail. I start the cut with enough rail to plunge square, make the cut about halfway, stop the saw, shift the rail over to make the cut (and support the TS) and finish it off. This all works very well as long as your reference side of the plywood is straight. If it has a bow or curve along it at all, you can't use this method with any confidence.
