parallel guides

Im sure it will be resolved rapidly, and once you have used them you will wonder how you managed without them [big grin]

Had a call from Festool UK this morning basically saying not their problem take it up with FIXY spoke to them sent emails then they spoke to Festool I got another call from someone else at Festool UK this afternoon saying they are sending me just the rail part and I have to swap over the wrong part and screw it all back together then send the wrong part back to them.

The part has to come from Germany and will be here if I'm lucky Friday  ::)

I said to the girl who rang me this afternoon that I had already emailed Festool UK and they had called me and said take it up with Fixy but she knew nothing about that. Very disorganized I don't think the Germans would be impressed Laughing

Chris, from what I was told by a member of staff at Festool UK, they only have one guy who deals with e-mails, when he is off on holiday or sick leave they do nothing with them. Staff shortage problem that they are unwilling to sort out by the sound of it. [sad]
Why not call Fixy and say either send replacement now or take the goods back as they are unfit for use, you have the law on your side. Sometimes hardball is all some people can understand.
I had good service from them and was about to order the OF2200 and CMS Kit with the OF accesories kit, but if they are not going to be helpful with this matter I will just have to go to Axminster, the price difference is little but I have used Axi for 15+ years.
Keep us posted mate, with prices so controlled by Festool it all comes down to customer service.

Regards Rob.

I have used Fixy and found them very helpfull I'm sure no hard ball would be needed.Friday not to bad as long as you don't have a pressing need to use them.

When I spoke to festool UK a older sounding lady said to my query oh we would not know that we just order tools from germany [scratch chin] [scratch chin] [scratch chin]

Rob,

I don't really blame Fixy they have been pretty good as its Festools fault yes I could have done with them this week but "cest la vie" it just annoys me Festool UK's attitude they think its acceptable to buy something then wait another week for a part and not even apologise for the inconvenience. Never mind no use dwelling on it just have to wait.

I will say again Fixy have been helpful.

I know fixy is/has been helpful, but, they carry stock and Festool UK don't, you are paying them not Festool directly and both of those parties should have customer service as a priority, not both say sort it with the other! That to me is unacceptable behaviour. It is certainly not how I treat my customers should they have a problem with something I had subcontracted out (which is in effect all that suppliers are, subcontractors for the other company).
I sometimes think we Brits are so laid back we are almost horizontal [big grin]. Kudos to you though for being so fair minded, I doubt I would be the same.

Best regards
Rob.

Rob,

Thanks for the concern but its not so straight forward. I didnt order the stuff myself a guy i subcontract off ordered them for me long story but he is now on holiday so this might confuse things. If i did return them to fixy i will have to repackage it all and wait in for a courier then wait for the new ones if they have stock. Where as all i have to do this way is wait for the new scale part to turn up and fit it. Makes more sense to me. Dont me wrong im not layed back at all im totally pissed off but id rather wait than have more hassle returning stuff.

Chris

Man, this turn of events really sucks. I would be upset if they sent me the wrong parts.

Thanks again John.  By the way, I just put the Starrett measure tape in place for illustration -- When I calibrate it & stick it in place it will start at ~7-1/4" (184mm).

Ha ha ha nice one  ;D [laughing]

Well this turned up today 1 week after the original guides turned up so not too bad took me about 2 minutes with a spanner to swap all the bits over. Had a note with it asking me to ring and arrange collection of the bit that was wrong  ::) not only do I get messed about because of Festools mess up putting the wrong parts in the package but they expect me to waste more of my time waiting in for another courier to collect this item  [mad]

Just specify a time for collection that suits YOU. most couriers can do a hour time slot these days. Or you could do what festool UK has done to me and just dont bother replying. [mad]
