Last weeks project of a surround for a large aquarium that is totally non-supporting of the tank itself.
Apparently this goes between 2 rooms to be viewed from both sides. The Corian top will be notched around the wall when being installed and each half gets attached to the wall itself. There are connecting panels (not shown) that connect and fill-in the space where the inside of the upper sections do not meet  and the wall would be exposed.
It also shows the aluminum U channel in the space between panels, as mentioned in my last project post.

Please tell me you can snag some pics of the install

I hope so. I did have the upper sections on top of the whole unit once at the end of the day Thursday, but didn't take a pic at that point, thinking that it would be back up there again before it shipped out on Monday. I never did though and it is supposed to go today. I'm not going to be there all this week, so it should be long done before I get back. I won't be there to ask, but I hope someone thinks to take a pic. I have no idea if this tank is already in-place and filled/functioning. I don't think it is, but this just wraps around, so it wouldn't really matter.

Up-date, we have a couple of pics from the install.
I knew that it was to separate two rooms, but just didn't think it would be quite so obvious?
Having past experience with larger tanks in my own home and building stands/surrounds for others, I would have thought that the lights inside would have obscured the view some? Maybe it's just because the rooms are so bright, but you can clearly see the chairs on the other side, from each side.
It looks pretty cool though. I never had it 100% assembled in the shop, since the spacing of the wall was needed for the inner panels to connect. I did sort-of stack it together, but only for a few minutes and no pics then. I'm not particularly into the wood flooring though. Two colors/patterns that are so close and so far away at the same time?

Nice work, I like the clean back side better.  The doors on the front side kind of look funky and out of place to me.  Either inset or more of a full overlay look would have looked better IMO and would have provided a more seamless grain match.  I know you probably didn't design it but I cant be the only one thinking it...I hope. It also might benefit from some matching base mold, looks a tad naked down there. your work though is top notch as always.

I have always loved a nice tank but never enough to own one.  The ones with jelly fish are super cool too but a pool and hot tub is enough water cleaning/balancing maintenance for me.

You're right, I have no in-put to the design of anything I build. There is usually some leeway with internal construction, as long as it looks like it is supposed to, and is structurally sound, but the look is set long before it gets to me.

I agree completely about the style of the doors too. The overlay is bad enough, but the pulls and locks just scream. Inset and touch latches could have changed it a lot. As far as I know, it will get wrapped with the same base as the rest of the room, but that is someone else's part of the job.

I used to have a very large tank (72"x18"x24") in my first house. I sold it when I moved from there because it wouldn't fit into the new place. You're right, it's a lot of work to maintain something like that.
