Photo tour of Festool museum, Wendlingen, Germany

I should mention that I was told that all of the tools that still have power cords are operational.

There's two photos of the first guide rail.

If someone has a question about one of the tools in the photo, I'll do my best to answer since I did hear about many of them.

Cool to see our heritage as a company.

Midnight here, so off to bed. [wink]

Shane, of course there is a mini-Festo museum at the Henderson Training Center, a preview of the big one at Wendlingen.

Could you tell us the image numbers of the pictures showing the original guide rails?

Thanks Shane.  Now I know of yet another place that I would like to visit.  My list is getting longer and my time is getting shorter.  Oh well!

This museum is yet another Festool offering that is NAINA!   [wink]

It sure looks like a very cool place to visit if I ever make it to Europe.

#7 and #9, Carroll. It's hanging on the wall.

The belt sander in photos 25, 26 and 27 shows there is one constant in the trades---------duct tape. [laughing]

Very nice album Shane. Thanks for sharing it.

Tom, that sander has some weight to it and looks like a locomotive in my opinion. I didn't notice the tape until you pointed it out, funny. Maybe the inspiration for Plug-It...

Shane, my father owned a rental yard, I recall a retired belt sander in one of the cabinets that looked just like the one in the photo. Could have been a Festo.

Seeing the progression from old to new gets me excited about what is to come.  Can't imagine how a TS55 will look to a younger generation in 50 years...I look at those old circular saw beasts and wonder how ground breaking and  time aving they were to them back in the day.

The 3 head tenoners are nice machines, the compact 3 head moulders are awesome and I really like the hauncher that has the balusters laying on the table.

Do the machines run?  can we start one in Lebanon?

can anyone visit this? I just realized this is close to Stuttgart... I drove by this place 3 weeks ago!

Is the saw in pick #11 a setup like the Mafell KSS 300/400?

I did not ask about that one, but believe it was an early track saw model.

Yes, I believe it's open for public access. I would contact Festool Germany to make sure. If I have the opportunity later this week, I'll ask.
