Hi all,
Just wondering if any of you drywall guys get away without skimming the popcorn ceiling after the Planex? I recently purchased the Planex and will be removing a bunch of texture. When wetting and scraping, I always have to do 2 skim coats over ceilings to make them flat and smooth ( as you know the taping job is not as good under texture as it is on smooth walls ). So, I am thinking if with planex by starting with 60-80 grit and moving up gradually to 240 would I need to skim at all after that? Anyone doing it this way? Or is it just impossible given that they only do 2 coats of mud and rough sand on ceilings before texture and no finish coats. Any suggestions?
