To keep the menus from stacking, I had to reduce their number. I guess I could combine several of them. But that's going to happen another day. I have a weeks worth of emails to catch up on [eek]

Combining works for me, as long as its somewhere up there. Good luck with the email, I'm backlogged over 3k myself  [embarassed]

Bump  [big grin]

Was looking for one of the Festool websites yesterday and realized/remembered the list is no longer available for iphone users. Do you ipad and android users see the festool websites menu item?

Shane can you pleas sort out the narrowing of the page.

The banner is causing the page not to go full width.  This wasn't a problem before you removed some
Of the tabs.  Having more tabs forced the page to go full width on my phone.

So either can you please add the tabs back or reduce the banner width.

Do something its doing my head in!!!

Lol, I've said it before, so many different screen sizes, devices and apps, difficult to optimise for all of them.

Shane, thanks for making the bar as it was again.

Alex, there are web design techniques for coping with various screen sizes and devices. However, our forum software does not readily lend itself to employing those techniques. And, there are no existing pre-made "themes" that use those techniques.

Tapatalk is currently the best option for mobile device users.

Mmmmm I wonder who!?    [popcorn]

It was such a simple request.
Simplicity can become Soooooo Complicated.   [eek]

Paul G, you turn your tablet to the horizontal position when you need to access web page buttons.

JMB, I agree, see Reply number 30.

Shane,

Can you move the logout button three tabs to the left?  [poke]

I know, I'm not quite unfamiliar with the matter as I ran a couple of gaming clan websites over the years. It was still not that easy. I often long back for the days when you only had to account for cross platform compatibility with IE and Netscape. Now there's at least 5 mayor browsers, desktop and mobile websites, and various mobile apps, all with their own peculiarities to account for.

I know I seen your reply but see my reply 27.

I had already mentioned it before but it's still the same  [crying]

Shane,  I prefer using the web browser on my phone than tapatalk only reason I used tapatalk before was to upload pictures but since iPhones update which now lets you update on the webpage I haven't even used tapatalk since.

I prefer seeing the page like every one sees it I feel I miss out on tapatalk the way it displays everything.

So tablets in vertical and small handheld device users have no access to the various festool website links, and gallery pages as well. It would be interesting to know the % of users overall that is, if it's like some of the server log stats I've seen on some other sites it could be as much as 40%. Industry-wide, mobile users account for about 30% of web traffic last year which was about a doubling of the previous year. Yahoo is predicting 2014 is when the majority of their traffic will be mobile users, interesting times.

In addition I've avoided tapatalk for security reasons, never liked the idea of using a 3rd party app beyond the browser to manage and transmit my username and passwords.

Shane, thanks for reviving the Festool links in the menus for mobile users, that seems to have also widened the overall page as well as before. If the logout problem continues for some mobile users maybe reordering the menu so logout is item 2 or 3 might alleviate the accidental click due to stacking.

Well that was an adventure that achieved nothing!

Shane,  I appreciate that this has been frustrating to say the least. Thanks for having a go.  [smile]

Thank you Shane!!! That's Brilliant

Can't describe how frustrating it was!  Not only was it annoying it wasnt using the entire screen but because of that every time you went to a different page you would have to zoom out scroll left right etc  because it would load up zoomed in the top left.

Now te page loads up perfectly and all I do now is scroll up and down.

Spot on!

If people have problems with the Home and Logout out button like I said at the very start

USE THE FOG LOGO AS THE HOME BUTTON IT DOES THE SAME THING AS HOME BUTTON

[size=11pt]

Was I imagining things this morning!!  (AEST)

The Logout Button has moved and everything else is still where and how it should be?

Thanks Shane.   [smile] [smile] [smile]

There's good news and maybe bad news for some. The reason the logout button has moved is because I removed the gallery button. The moderators and I chatted and decided it was time for the gallery to be retired. So, no new albums will be created but existing images will remain as-is. There are just so many offerings now on the web that offer free photo storage like Flickr, Picasa, and others. Those options are far better than the Coppermine gallery. So, I hope members take the change in stride.
