Plugin issue on my CT26

So, the other day, i was having issues with my TS55 cutting out on a long cut. I noticed that my plugin on my CT 26 wasn't securely holding the plug into itself. Turns out that the spring loaded cover pushes down on the plugin and disconnects it. I used some tape to hold it in the proper position, but that seems to be a funny issue to have. I have had this happen when I was routing Corian seams with the OF 1400. That wasn't fun either... Any suggestions?

That was the case with my CT26 from the beginning.  Super annoying.

My dealer was cool and threw me another socket gratis.  But up until then, what I did was get a short heavy gauge three outlet extension cord and plugged it into the socket.  Extra benefit of having three plugs so I don't have to swap out when I'm switching back and forth between pug-it tools and corded tools:

EDIT: [member=1674]Peter Halle[/member] or [member=1619]SRSemenza[/member] might want to move this to the main tool problem subforum.

Contact Festool service if the outlet's not holding the plug tight.

Also, I've known some folks to remove the four screws holding the socket into the CT and flip it upside down. So it flips down rather than up.

That's standard issue on all new CT's in Australia.. [big grin]
