plunge saws and guide rail length

I have some tools stored up between the ceiling joists making it impossible to store my rails up under the joists.
I keep the most used rails on top of some of my lumber racks.  The rails are always on top.
If they are on one layer of lumber that i need right away, I just move the rails up or down to accommodate.

I have a lumber rack against both long walls of my shop.
One of the first things I plan to do this summer is to remove one rack so I can put cabinets against that one wall.
That will be one of the first steps to better organization.

Go with the 3000.  The extra length is really appreciated when using 8 foot material and you are installing the parallel guides.  You do bring up a good point about hitting the ceiling.  I suspect you will soon learn to live with the length and not do that often.  I have the 2700 and wish I had done the 3000

Thanks for the opinions.

My 3000 arrived today, but haven't had a chance to use it yet.  Trying to rearrange my lumber rack so that I can store the 3000 on the top shelf.

It looks beautiful though!
