I have 8  6"x6" Redwood columns on my front porch which were starting to get weathered. Rather than sanding them and painting, I decided to cover them PVC Column Wraps from VersaTex. There expensive however easy to work with and should last forever. It took me 2 days working at an easy pace to install all eight.

Looks great. Now you need to power wash the ceiling to match the hot new look!

Great look!  It also appears to me that you caulked the bottoms where they hit the concrete.  I think I'd be concerned that water might get trapped in the columns and cause science projects and/or rot.

They are sealed from the bottom to the top wrap however there are weep holes on the front bottom to drain any condensate.
