Hi-
I use a porter cable 18" belt sander (their small one) for scribing in the field but haven't figured out a good solution for attaching it to my mini dust collector.
I now use the bent part from the plastic cleaning kit  which fits well but changes the weight distribution of the machine.
Anyone have a good solution?
Thanks

I'm not sure what the 18" belt sander's port looks like, but I was able to reform the dust chute of my Makita 3x24 belt sander to fit the Festool D27 hose.

I'm having an aluminum piece made for my Porter Cable belt sander that will fit the D27 hose.

I use the Fein ($4.25) stepped adapter for most of my Festools as I have three Fein vacs.  I also use the Fein Flex Hose End Adaptor (1.50)  for many applications.  I've adapted PC, Makita, and Hitachi tools using these.  Both I buy from Coastal Tool.

Cut the outer ring off the supplied Porter Cable adapter and the hose of a CT fits right over it.  Takes about 2min. with a handsaw.

I have a Festool attachment for that makes scribing COMPLETELY easier.  It's called an RAS 115!  My Porter Cable belt sander has not been used once since I bought the RAS. My favorite and most often used tool by far.

Cheers

Here's a pic of the modification.  It's just the stock adapter with the outer ring cut off.
