Everyone,
I'm a fan of Festool (no kidding).

I'm also a fan of the innovations they come up with at Woodpeckers.  This morning, I learned about Woodperckers' new "Supertrack."  Can't help but imagine ways that this stuff could be combined with the MFT -- make an MFT extension, an MFT fence, an extended MFT fence...

What do you think?.  Check it out here --http://www.woodpeck.com/supertrack.html

Thanks for the tip Mathew. I've been looking for something like this.
Track dimensions are here.

Great topic for discusion.  Thanks for bringing it up Matthew.

The guy here with the most experience and knowledge of t track and the mft is Corwin.  I'm really interested in what he says, especially in comparing this new track to the Incra track he's discussed before.  I'm getting ready to do some kind of track installation on the MFT myself.

Matt,

Sounds like a great product for an MFT fence extension - it would be an improvement over the one I just did.
Thanks for sharing.

I got the email also. Compared prices with a MFS400 considering clamps and hold downs. Price was about $50.00 cheaper. However there was no connectors or rulers.

I do like them and considering getting a couple of the 24" ones.

These have lots of possible uses, but I wasn't necessarily comparing them to the MFS.  However, I don't have the MFS so I don't know, maybe they are useful that way.  My immediate idea is to use these as add-ons for the MFT.

Matthew,

Although I now have a very complete MFS system (MFS 400, MFS 700 & 1000 rails) I had similar thoughts.  I think it would be possible to create a shop grown version of the MFS out of these rails.  However the 90 degree attachment would be the difficult part to make it as solid, coplanar & simple to use as the MFS rail connectors, and as noted they have no rules.  Once you use the MFS you realize that the rules are a very important feature of the MFS System.

The other thought I had was using these as a MFT extension.  An angle bracket to attach to the side rail & an adjustable leg like the one posted a few days ago would be all that's need for an extension.  It will be interesting to see if the channels would accommodate the Festool clamp profiles.  Although a clamp that could be rotated to 90 degrees of the channel would be more flexible, the rotation of a clamp about the base is a feature that I would like to see Festool add to the clamping profiles.  Although there are others including Woodpeckers, Veritas, that already have rotating bases available.

Yep, I've been looking at those!  Now, think about Jerry's setup for a horizontal router on the side of an MFT -- maybe...  At first glance I would not compare these directly with the Incra Track, rather another versatile product for making jigs or embedded in a worktable surface.

I'd like to see just what you guys (and Jerry's gals) find to do with this.

Jerry's gals?  Did he steal them away from John?  Just kidding.  I, too, would like to see what these clever men come up with.

Matthew,
I think you are right on. Woodpeckers is a valuable source. I had missed this product. Will get some in to see how well they meld.

Geez - my wallet just ran under the bed to hide ;D.  It's just what I need, more cool stuff to buy.  I can just imagine a really nice fence on my MFT - or a rip fence jig or??

Thanks for the tip Matthew!!

Do either of the above mentioned T-Tracks mate with the MFT accessory package?

Thanks
Dan
