The default draft retention time is 24 hours, but this can be changed by the Administrator. If you have several threads open at the same time for replies, the drafts remain in each thread until they expire. However after my last post, i have found a new feature i really like, if you start typing up a reply and either close the tab, and get side tracked and say your laptop goes to sleep... the post reply is still there when you come back to it, yay!!
I miss the larger ‘recent posts’ section which is how I mostly consume this site.
This is all very helpful. I'm finding that newer posts in threads that I have opened since the site transition are behaving as expected, but it seems that the migration has wiped out a significant amount of "last read" information, inasmuch as I have posts dating back to March 10 that are showing as "unread" (even though I read them in late March), and every thread currently marked as "unread" takes me to the very first post in the thread. There are two ways to view recent posts, and each is slightly different when you are logged in. If you are not logged in, then they both function nearly the same.
From the main FOG page, there are two new content links visible in the menu bar. These are the "New posts" and "What's new" links.
The "New posts" link will show you all threads that contain unread posts. This works only when you are logged in. I have one thread that contain an unread post in the image below. When you click on a thread title, the software will open the thread at the first unread post. If there is an additional page of unread posts and you go back to the menu, the thread will remain in the "New posts" list until you have opened the last page of the thread. Once you have opened a page that displays all of the unread posts, regardless if you don't scroll down to read the last post, the thread will be removed from the "New posts" list the next time you click on it.
The URL contains a number at the end that is a time stamp based on the moment you clicked "New posts". This number will change each time you click on the link and can be ignored. If you want to create a link in your browser to take you directly to the new posts page, copy the URL shown in the red box and save it as a bookmark. If you include the timestamp number, you will only see unread posts associated with that moment in time.
The "What's new" link will show you all threads that contain new posts, starting with the thread the has the most recent post. Any threads that contain unread posts will be highlighted with bold text.
As with the "New posts" link, when you click on a thread title, the software will open the thread at the first unread post if you are logged in. The difference between "New posts" and "What's new" is the thread will still be displayed when you go back to the "What's new" page, but it will not be highlighted because there are no unread posts. If you click on the thread title again, the page will open at the first post in the thread. If you are not logged in, the software will display the first post in the thread.
What time is the new software using? Today, Friday, at 8:41 am PDT it shows me that some people posted over an hour ago that's actually 6 hours in the future:

I had to go preferences to select the correct time zone.
Wednesday at 10:39 PM was 1 1/2 days ago, rather than 6 hours in the future. What time is the new software using? Today, Friday, at 8:41 am PDT it shows me that some people posted over an hour ago that's actually 6 hours in the future:

I also appreciate that you can pop the images up in their own overlay and arrow/swipe between them. Made the comparison photos on your post about the CT/CTC-SYS easy to flip back and forth.Just made my first post that included a photo...wow, was that PAINLESS!![]()

Type some text, attach a photo and done.
I was always nervous about attaching photos because once you hit the post button, there was this 15 second moment of silence when you never knew if the post was going to be successful or not. There have been many times when I just folded up the computer and went on to other activities because the post was unsuccessful.
But the text on the screen makes it look like it was 6 hours in the future since it was morning and was showing posts made later that afternoon.Wednesday at 10:39 PM was 1 1/2 days ago, rather than 6 hours in the future.
I literally just made the same mistake at work myself, completely missing the day/date and only seeing the time on a log entry.
Sorry, I focused on the right-hand column and now I see you were talking about the left-hand column. But the text on the screen makes it look like it was 6 hours in the future since it was morning and was showing posts made later that afternoon.
Anyway, thanks all for pointing me at preferences. No more time travel.
Happens on iPhone via Safari, too:Any ideas for color handling:

Still putting medium gray on light gray, very hard to read. (thanks for the likes though!)
